Anti Cancer Diet
The anti cancer diet does mean radically changing our traditional Western diet. Concerned about cancer and nutrition? Eat foods rich in enzymes and anti-oxidants!
There are many proactive measures we can take to safeguard our health.
The problem is, we have become used to eating foods that invite cancer to grow in our bodies. We stuff ourselves with simple sugars, low quality protein and ignore pure foods.
Without the critical nutrients found in an anti-cancer diet, we might as well hang a sign out inviting cancer to come to stay.
The first step in cancer and prevention is to starve your cancer cells (they are already lurking in all of us). These cells are obligate glucose metabolizers that feed on sugars. Processed and unrefined foods have to be replaced with an anti cancer diet.
Cancer Prevention Diet
Antioxidants provide more than 50% of our critical nutrients. These are found in fruit and vegetable nutrition, herbs, and superfoods.
These are the foods you should strive to include every day, and only drink alkaline, ionized water (no sodas).
1. Anti-Cancer Diet Foods with vitamin B6 You can decrease high prolactin levels by eating more asparagus, soy products and natural cheeses. When the prolactin levels are decreased, the hormones responsible for increased testosterone levels drop (when raised this leads to abnormal cell activity in the prostate).
B6 deficiencies are not common, but can result in a weaker and compromised immune system. There is also some research that shows some types of cancer risks are increased with a low B6 concentration.

- Bananas
- Nuts
- Bulgur
2. Eat Pectin
Anti cancer diet foods that are rich in pectin are pears, apples, strawberries, tangerines and plums. Pectin is a fiber that will help prevent colon tumors and promote weight loss.
It also has essential potassium that lowers cholesterol (a strong link to breast and lung cancer).
3. Pomegranate
Pomegranate is truly one of the most promising natural remedies for prostate cancer. Researchers in Germany have found that extracts of pomegranate will stop prostate cancer cells from multiplying, will kill them, and prevent them from growing again. Researchers at UCLA have conducted many studies to see if there really solid evidence for using pomegranate, and there is. They concluded that it actually blocks a protein found in the nucleus of prostate cancer cells that fuels its growth. It is showing solid evidence for being one of the essential components of the anti cancer diet.
Pomegranates are rich in phytochemicals. The country of Israel has done a lot of medical research on this fruit, and it has been shown that it contains more antioxidants than green tea nutrition, cranberry juice or red wine.
This fruit also is one of the best vitamin C supplements available. It can help prevent prostate cancer by how it doubles the time it takes for PSA levels to rise after drinking merely 8 ounces of it.
4. Eat Coleslaw
Why eat coleslaw on an anti cancer diet? Because cabbage combats cancers of the lungs, rectum, colon and stomach. It's a cruciferous vegetable which inhibits tumor enzymes.
If you hate cabbage, eat more radishes or cauliflower instead as part of your cancer prevention diet.
5. Drop the White
Cancer cells feed on sugar. White stuff = sugar. Simple carbs like white bread, white rice, white pasta…it all converts into sugar in our bodies and cancer cells thrive on it. If you really want to fight cancer naturally, stop eating unnatural foods.
Ezekial bread is a great one to switch to. It is made from sprouted grains, so it must be kept in the refrigerator. It is very hearty, and one slice has 4 grams of protein and only 80 calories. Even better - there is no sugar. Try it with almond butter for a wonderful treat!
6. Drink Tea
Natural remedies for prostate cancer always include four types of tea: asparagus, watermelon seed, cornsilk and saw palmetto. Why? These are known vegetables and herbs essential to prostate health.
Asparagus has asparagine in it, the alkaloid for healing the prostate. It also contains pectin and Vitamin K.
Saw palmetto tea, watermelon and cornsilk all have hormone-correcting substances like carotenes and glucoside. Watermelon seed tea works as a kidney and bladder purifier, as does cornsilk tea.
Green Tea can prevent and even reverse some forms of cancer. It is NOT a catch-all cure for cancer (so don't believe any website that says so) but it does contain catechins and phytochemicals that have been proven to fight cancer.
Green tea also inhibits metastasis and inhibits platelet adhesion. Exactly what you need in an anti cancer diet.
7. Include More Yoghurt Eating or drinking foods high in acidophilus such as yoghurts will not only protect the prostate gland but will also promote healing.
Greek yogurt is the best type to eat, and you could also drink a Kefir product (a yogurt drink that is delicious).
Don’t go overboard on the dairy though. High amounts of dairy could negatively impact testosterone levels and it isn't necessary as part of an anti cancer diet.
8. Superfoods Garlic
Louis Pasteur found that garlic killed the bacteria in his petri dishes. Researchers in China have found that a high intake of garlic cuts the risk for stomach cancer in half. Garlic in an anti cancer diet protects the liver against carcinogenic compounds. It is deadly to tumor cells, but completely harmless to healthy cells.
Cruciferous Vegetables
The vegetable nutrition in cruciferous vegetables (think broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower) have an active ingredient in them called "indoles." These are extremely protective against cancer as a diet high in this can actually reduce the size of tumors and cancer cells.
All Colorful Fruits and Vegetables
Many of these, particularly berries, contain ellagic acid which will actually make cancer cells self-destruct. They also stimulate the immune system and help make protective barriers in the myelin coating around cells.
Fruits like pineapple can dissolve the "stealth" coating that lets cancer tumors ravage a body while remaining undetected. It also contains "proteases" which amps up the body's immune system and encourages cancer-cell suicide.
Mushrooms
These are potent anti-cancer foods. The oral extract of the Maitake mushroom can provide complete elimination of tumors, as proven in laboratory tests. It contains a polysaccharide called beta-glucan that lowers blood pressure and stimulates the immune system. Look for Reishi and Maitake mushrooms to include in your diet.
Fructo-oligosaccharides
Found in whole grains and onions, these starches feed the good bacteria we need in our gut. When the good bacteria is strong, the cancer filled cells cannot grow.
